Elton Hyder III Collection Formerly at the University of Texas School of Law

The walnut bookcase with the crest styled as a pediment supported by three fluted Corinthian columns to each side with locked doors hinging open to reveal four shelves and a lower compartment, the glass doors to the center mounted with iron floral and scroll decoration opening to reveal four velvet lined shelves of 19 inch depth, the case supported by a carved, stepped base with large drawer with two iron handles.

    Condition Report*:

The shelves in one corner unit significantly damaged, a large chip to the upper corner of the crest, significant loss to the hollow crest, especially visible from the top, loss and scratches throughout visible in images and commensurate with age. Although the piece has much wear the construction is sound.
