    AN ITALIAN EBONIZED WOOD AND IVORY SECRETARY

    110-5/8 inches high x 69-1/2 inches wide (281.0 x 176.5 cm)

    The monumental ebonized secretary in three parts joined by pegs between the levels, inlaid with ivory in classical scenes and floral bands, strap work to frames and the sides, the middle level with drop front revealing a tooled white gilt leather desk top with four drawers with ivory knobs, two cabinets below, bonnet with broken pediment and finial to the top and to each scrolled side with ivory dentils.


    Condition Report*:

    With visible cracks through ivory in primarily a horizontal fashion, loss to ebonized finish to rims and edges, missing ivory from central dentil.
