    PROVENANCE:
    From the William Randolph Hearst Collection

    The rectangular case with wrought iron mounts and handles, featuring a drop front panel enclosing ten individual drawers and two compartments with locking doors, flanked by two carved figures. Records indicate this was inventory number 4257 from the Hearst Corporation.

    Condition Report*:

    Lot includes key, well-figured wood with rich patina, interior is fitted with drawers from the late 19th century, mounts are secured with more recent screws, age related cracks to the top and front of the case, rubbing to the carved elements and missing flakes to the molded cornice and base, otherwise with surface wear indicative of age and use.
