Description

A Swiss Polychromed Graubuenden Walnut Blanket Chest, 17th century in part
31-3/4 inches high x 70 inches wide x 23-1/2 inches deep (80.6 x 177.8 x 59.7 cm)

The trunk constructed of walnut with a secondary wood of pine with two-paneled hinged lid, case with carved arch and column decoration embellished with raised carved pyramidal brads, figured cutouts in between board feet, black painted floral stenciling throughout.

Condition Report*: Chipping to trim to lid, wormholing, stenciling is of later vintage, kickmarks to feet, otherwise good condition. Lot is without key.
