A Louis XV-Style Creme Piente Day Bed with Canopy Featured in the 1967 "Good Company" Interview Between Zsa Zsa Gabor and F. Lee Bailey, mid-20th century
    100 h x 86 w x 56 d inches (254 x 218.4 x 142.2 cm)

In the 1967 "Good Company" interview between Zsa Zsa Gabor and F. Lee Bailey, Gabor claimed this bed was an exact replica of Empress Josephine's bed, though it only vaguely resembles the actual bed. She joked that the bed was an accurate personification of her: "It's blue and green. Sometimes I'm blue but most of the time I'm green." She went on to say that the bed was "terribly impractical" and "too small," admitting that the present lot was one of two beds she used. She justified having multiples as a practical matter: "It's better that a husband and wife don't sleep in the same bedroom. A woman can keep her privacy and she can be mysterious."

It would indeed have been much simpler to work with a local auction house, and we had local options. But we never once regretted going with Heritage.
