Although there are a multitude of varieties of Trilobites from Morocco, some are more readily and easily identifiable due to certain unique physical characteristics. That is most definitely the case with Walliserops given the diagnostic "trident" shaped appendage which protrudes from its head and certainly was challenging for the expert who restored and prepared the Devonian fossil for its ultimate destination. This phacopid contains numerous spines coming off the body in addition to the three-pronged feature protruding from its glabella. Posed atop a tan-colored granular matrix, the black "bug" with brown highlights shows superb detail and complexity for a "flying" Trilobite.
