Description

Trilobites

Trilobite Fossil (Positive/Negative)
Cambropallas sp.
Cambrian
Morocco

The most obvious intriguing attribute of this large and unusual fossil is that it is a positive/negative in nodule form. A rustic and rugged example, this pair of rocky matrices from Morocco contains a single Trilobite of the Cambropallas variety that has naturally split, effectively, into a fossil cast and mold. Quite pronounced in terms of being convex and concave, respectively, the ancient arthropods both exhibit a mottled coloration with a complex texture. The ancient marine creature, now in two pieces entombed within rocky backgrounds, measures 9.5 inches (24 cm) from tip to tail. The nodule of the larger half measures 14 inches (36 cm), and both rocks are stark, with sporadically stippling marks. The fossil cast and mold fit well together but must be open to reveal the inner treasures.
Larger Half Measurements: 13.98 x 10.24 x 1.97 inches (35.50 x 26.00 x 5.00 cm)
