The obvious bonus feature of this two-piece fossil is that it is a positive-negative with an effectively cast and a mold of a Trilobite. Of the Cambropallas variety, this prehistoric arthropod dating to the Cambrian makes it one of the older fossils likely to be encountered. From Morocco, this nodule-like rock features an exterior with distinctive markings, the result of "stippling" to give the matrix more character. The reddish-brown imprint and relief mirror fossils measure over 8 inches (20 cm) and fit together nicely when the two egg-shaped rock halves are carefully placed together. This is a novel presentation but still showcases an important Paleozoic fossil. The rustic representations exhibit well-defined lobes with very significant cephalons that contain two broad curving genal spines. This is a different type of a collectible variety. In terms of geologic significance, all Trilobites were wholly extinct before any dinosaurs ever lived!
