Trilobite Fossil PairEldredgeops (Phacops) rana africanus
Devonian
Hamar L'Aghdad Limestone
Alnif, Morocco
8.94 x 4.78 x 2.83 inches (22.70 x 12.15 x 7.20 cm)
This impressive double fossil showcases two superb specimens of Eldredgeops rana, the well-known Devonian Trilobite once grouped under Phacops. Both individuals are preserved in remarkable three-dimensional relief, their ribbed thoraxes and pitted cephala displaying fine anatomical detail. Set at complementary angles, the pair appears almost in motion, as though caught mid-crawl across the ancient sea floor. The dark mineralized exoskeletons stand in bold contrast against the lighter Limestone matrix, emphasizing every curve and segment. Substantial and visually engaging, this dual Trilobite display captures both the elegance and resilience of life more than 350 million years old-sure to be an outstanding centerpiece for any fossil collection.
