Description
Trilobite FossilComura bultyncki
Middle Devonian
Morocco
This fine example of Comura bultyncki originates from the fossil-rich Middle Devonian deposits of Morocco, a region celebrated for its diverse and elaborately spined Trilobite fauna. The curled, black fossilized arthropod displays multiple delicate spines arcing outward from the cephalon and thorax, their graceful sweep enhancing the specimen's intricate silhouette. Posed as if cresting a subtle rise on the ancient seafloor, the Trilobite conveys a sense of benthic locomotion characteristic of such Paleozoic marine inhabitants. The rich, lustrous black coloration of the fossil contrasts dramatically against the light gray matrix, heightening both visual impact and structural detail. The specimen is the product of meticulous preparation and careful restoration, processes that have revealed a refined morphology while preserving the integrity of the dramatic and sculptural form.
