    Description

    Sweethome Slab
    Cedar
    Lower Oligocene, Mahama Volcanics Formation
Sweet Home, Linn County, Oregon, USA

This slab of Petrified Wood known as "Sweethome" is a variety of Cedar from Oregon. While any reference to "Sweet Home" anything is likely to excite the mineral collectors out there, this one is for the invertebrate fossil hounds who appreciate the botanical side of things. This is one classic piece of Pacific Northwest material with earthy creams and browns. The patterning is undulating with irregular rings visible across the entire polished surface. There is a very interesting patch of fill in the center which looks like a snake was trapped inside the wood. At over 18 inches (45.72 cm), this is a rather large slab with a lot of decorative appeal.
    Overall Measurements: 18.5 x 14.5 x 1.3 inches (47.0 x 36.8 x 3.2 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.
