This irregular slab of Petrified Wood from Arizona is unusually thick but is most noteworthy for its rich, rust reddish-orange coloration which is predominant over the smooth polished surface of the example. Color is king when it comes to "rainbow" wood, and this piece exhibits a fiery hue. Some black "veining" traverses the surface, and there are numerous fingerprint sized patches of dark magenta and slate blue.
