    Although this is, without a doubt, a major slab of collectible Petrified Wood, it is clearly best suited to be used as a tabletop. Measuring a full 35 inches (88.9 cm) at maximum diameter, this round edged oval is simply amazing. Subtle muted earth tones characterize this huge slab with a predominantly gray-brown overall coloration which is certainly not bland at all. The serene color palette of this piece gives the top an elegant appearance. The neutrality of the oval tabletop makes it suitable for most any room as such colors would mix well with a variety of décors. Swirling circular patterns round out the smooth polished surface, which have preserved the original internal structure of the organic wood. While this is, indeed, an ancient tree some 200 million years old, it is a functional piece as it has been cut, polished, and even reinforced so that it can be used as a tabletop. This truly represents the best of both worlds as it can be incorporated into a piece of furniture yet still always be a high quality specimen of fine Petrified Wood.
