This small slab of Petrified Wood is from an ancient pine tree. While this specimen from Madagascar is of the same Genus and age of the "rainbow" wood from Arizona - it, like most other varieties of wood, has more earth tone hues than bright colors. Regardless, this piece is intricate and attractive just as it is. Polished to reveal the intricate internal structure, this slab is a combination of white, brown, and yellow with even some very subtle markings of pinkish-red. This piece measures 5 inches (12.7 cm) in diameter.
