This thick and large log section of Petrified Wood is far from just a big fossil. The "limb cast" features the classic Agate window within the fossilized botanical material. The green part of the wood exhibits some structure, and the specimen in total can only be characterized as unusual. This massive example weighs a substantial 21.5 lbs. (9.8 kg), but it is the duality of the two prominent and contrasting sections of this log which make it so special. The football shaped Agate window has a subtle greenish-gray banding over a pronounced "icy" center of clear, white crystals with a greenish-gray Agate center. The rest of the cut and polished smooth face has a porous appearance with a mottled fibrous pattern of yellow and brown.
