    Petrified Log Section
    Schinoxylon sp.
    Eocene, Blue Forest
Eden Valley, Sweetwater County, Wyoming, USA

This is actually an entire collection of Petrified Wood slabs in one single Lot. This Petrified Wood limb has been cut and expertly polished into an astonishing 26 sections to reveal the progression of the Agate and the Chalcedony throughout the original wood. The branch was unusually long and is an archetypal example of the material from this famous locality. The individual pieces are each special in their own right. The "end" limb, which is a larger specimen than the other slices, has been cut at an angle to give it "stature" with respect to the other slabs in from the limb. The surface has blue banded Agate pockets complete with crystals which really stands out from the rest of the rigidly patterned black and brown core from the log. The remainder of the slices are thin disks of exaggerated drink coaster size and have an almost ceramic quality to them. Swirling bands of blue Agate frame their cores, as the mineralization does progress from one end of the limb to the other. Each slab would be an attractive specimen by itself; when taken together, this collection is quite an amazing grouping.
    Overall Measurements: 5.5 x 4.3 x 2.5 inches (14.0 x 10.8 x 6.4 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.
