    Petrified Conifer Slab

    Triassic
    Chinle Formation
    Arizona, USA

    A classic and massive slab of Petrified Wood, this giant specimen, from the Chinle Formation of Arizona, represents the state fossil in grand form. About as large as any cross-section of "rainbow" material from the locality to be cut and polished into a singular specimen, this size of this piece is obviously one of the major attributes, but the colors, patterns and quality of this example are equally as impressive. With an amazing pattern of swirling rings punctuated by a dominant rust red coloration and highlighted by some areas of mustard, blue and magenta hues, along with some brown patches and black tones, this monster specimen is designed to function as a desk or tabletop. The offering was produced to highlight its colors.
