This superb and irregularly shaped, thick specimen of Petrified Wood from Arizona offers an outstanding combination of color and form. An idyllic blend of rust orange and slate blue dominates this huge slab of extinct conifer dating to the Triassic some 200 million years ago. The example boasts a superlative "rind" and has a sealed backing. The complex display piece has the bonus of several unusual and organic holes, the large slice measures over 34 inches (86 cm) at maximum dimension. Linear black accents enhance its striking visual appeal, and this is a consummate display example of the coveted material from the famed locality. The colors are stunning yet not overwhelming, and the shape, inclusive of the hollow cavities, is really special, making this a true one-of-a-kind specimen. This is sizable, dramatic, impactful, and unusual.
