The showpiece of this auction, this spectacular Petrified Wood slab, from Arizona, is special. Massive in size, outstanding in color, and visually striking, this is presented with a metal stand but could, easily, be made into a table. Stunning describes the array of colors, including hues of rust orange, magenta purple, mustard yellow, slate blue, and smoky gray, resulting in a superlative example of the Grand Canyon State's official fossil - Araucarioxylon arizonicum - dating back to the Triassic Period over 200 million years ago.
