This dynamic duo consists of two incredible gemmy and colorful Opalized logs from the famous Virgin Valley that combine for an outstanding offering. The two segments of Petrified Wood, in the form of limb casts, have the incredible attribute of showcasing colorful Opal across both of their exteriors to a considerable extent. The colors explode off both pieces, and even hints of a "confetti" variety are visible in small sections with enormous flashes on both components of this amazing pairing. The longer example measures some 10 inches (25 cm), and the smaller is still an adequate 6 inches (15 cm) long. The set comes presented on a custom, acrylic base for safe and dramatic display. The material was collected by the mine owner in 2014 from a proprietary area of the Virgin Valley Mining District and represents a forest that was buried by volcanic ash some 20 million years ago which were preserved with silica as the result of hydrothermal water.
