    4.10 x 3.04 x 0.58 inches (10.42 x 7.72 x 1.47 cm)

    The characteristic "fan" shape of the Gingko leaf is clearly in play with this ancient example. Looking like a tornado, the bluish-gray fossil remnant on this rust colored irregular piece of matrix rock has very nice striations as part of its pinnate venation. The fossil takes up most of the background and is a good sized example. From the Sentinel Butte Formation, this Paleocene fossil is a fine representation of the locality.
