    Morton County, North Dakota
    3.46 x 3.73 x 0.4 inches (8.78 x 9.48 x 1.03 cm)

    This fossil Gingko leaf has the characteristic "fan" shape and takes up just about all of the matrix on this small specimen. The width of the leaf goes across the entire host rock and has fine detail of the pinnate venation. The striated fossil leaf features a bluish-gray color interspersed with golden-yellow tones that contrast nicely against the orangey matrix. The shape of the matrix almost mirrors the shape of the leaf.
