This massive aquatic Palm Frond has been cut from the strata of the Green River Formation and framed for wall hanging. With virtually limitless decorative appeal, this huge example from the famed American Lagerstätte consists of a dynamic, massive flowering Palm Frond with a pronounced stem. The fossil can be oriented either vertically or horizontally, and the finished piece is designed for an installation. With a reddish brown hue, an oily composition and obvious expert preparation, this huge work of natural art is something special, especially when considering the rarity of good quality and sizable Palm Fronds found in the Green River each season. The singularity of the plant fossil without inlaid fossil fish makes it work. The large specimen is visually striking on a matrix of various earth tones featuring layers of thin "varves."
