    Fossil Leaves
    Unidentified Species
    Presumed Austria

This decorative piece is most unusual - a tall and heavy fossilized agglomeration of odd fossil leaves. The golden Travertine is rough and grainy, but the individual specimens throughout are superbly preserved. Each of the leafy sections evidence a pronounced stem and venation pattern in high relief from the rock. Presented in a custom wooden display base, this robust botanical fossil is a serious statement piece. The incredible concentration of the leafy remnants over the specimen, combined with the artistic manner in which the rustic piece exhibits, there is no denying it produces an impact. The fossil cluster stands 40 inches (101 cm) above that base, and the largest fossil leaf measures some 10 inches (25 cm) in length. This is not a typical variety of fossilized leaves, and pieces like this are not likely to be found very often.
    Overall Measurements: 48.03 x 17.52 x 7.48 inches (122.00 x 44.50 x 19.00 cm)

    Provenance: Central Coast Collection

    Estimate: $5,000 - $7,000.
