This fossilized Ginkgo cranei leaf displays the classic "winnowing" fan-shape that defines this ancient and iconic tree species. Preserved in a warm, tan matrix, the leaf shows fine surface striations radiating from the stem, echoing the elegant symmetry seen in modern Ginkgo biloba. The broad, lobed silhouette is clearly defined, with subtle contrasts between the fossil and the surrounding stone. Dating back to the Mesozoic Era, Ginkgo fossils are prized for their link to one of the longest-living plant lineages on Earth.
