This beautiful and striking fossil leaf is, obviously, that of the Gingko variety and features whitish color, thin, striated patterning and classic "winnowing fan" shape. Against a mottled rust-brown background, the vibrant and well-preserved leaf is broad and attractive. The bonus is the presence of the long stem. The fossil measures well over 3 inches (7.6 cm) across and is quite large relative to the size of its matrix.
