    Description

    Woolly Mammoth Tusk
    Mammuthus primigenius
    Pleistocene
    Alaska, USA

This rather gorgeous Mammoth Tusk measures some 39 inches (99 cm) across and a whopping 45 inches (114 cm) on the curve. This reflective polished fossil is slick and exhibits an elegant gradual curve over its finished exterior surface. The blending hues of brown, cream, and tan provide the earthy-toned example with a high degree of visual appeal and major decorative impact. This classy offering comes presented in a custom Iron and wood base that cradles the 'Ice Age' remnant to display its full glory. The slender girth of this piece is consistent with it having originated from a female, and relatively younger, member of the proboscidean variety. This example, dating to the Pleistocene, is lengthy, beautiful, and naturally artistic. Minimal visible restoration has been expertly performed, and an added bonus of this elongated offering is the presence of some dark greenish-blue due to the presence of the mineral Vivianite that adds some additional color to the fossilized ivory which is prohibited in some U.S. States (see the disclaimer below).
    Overall Measurements: 39.00 x 32.50 x 12.00 inches (99.06 x 82.55 x 30.48 cm)
