Fossils

Woolly Mammoth Tooth Sphere
Mammuthus primigenius
Pleistocene
Siberia

This finely crafted sphere has been hewn from a Woolly Mammoth tooth dating to the Pleistocene deposits of Siberia and measures just under 3 inches (7.6 cm) in diameter, approximately the size of a pool ball. Skillfully shaped and polished, the orb reveals the distinctive internal structure of such proboscidean dentition, transformed through lapidary artistry into a compelling sculptural form. Concentric bands of gold and brown encircle the sphere, accented by a subtle blue highlight that lends the piece an almost planetary appearance. The natural layering of fossil ivory is beautifully expressed in the round format, allowing the material's organic history to remain central to its visual appeal. Both a relic of the "Ice Age" and a refined decorative object d'art, this unique presentation elevates a somewhat familiar fossil material into an arresting work of natural art.
Measurements: 2.95 inches (7.50 cm) in diameter
