This extraordinary specimen is a genuine section of Woolly Mammoth (Mammuthus primigenius) skin, featuring a dense covering of preserved hair. The fibrous texture and natural curvature of the skin surface are clearly visible, offering a rare tactile connection to the Ice Age megafauna that once roamed the northern steppes. Hair preservation of this quality is exceptionally uncommon and typically results from permafrost conditions that prevented decomposition. Dating to the Late Pleistocene, this piece represents a direct link to an extinct species that lived alongside early humans.
