This rough and rustic Mastodon tooth is quite substantial, measuring a full 7 inches (18 cm) in length, and comes presented on a custom wood and metal pin base with felt feet. A product of the Lone Star State, this example of prehistoric proboscidean dentition is suitably Texas-sized. Found in association with industrial work, this specimen is quite complete with a mottled coloration of both cream, black, and brown hues, visible but only expected wear to the molar and some secondary mineralization present in patches over the preserved form out of the Pleistocene. The natural appeal is undeniable.
