This well-preserved fossil specimen represents Prolagus sp., an extinct genus of small lagomorphs closely related to modern pikas. Originating from Pliocene deposits in Sardinia, Italy, Prolagus is notable for its insular evolution and offers valuable insights into island paleofauna.
