DescriptionFossil "Cave Bear" Skull
As this specimen is from Russia, rather than Romania, and, therefore, of the species uralensis, rather than spelaeus, it is, technically, Cave Bear "like" rather than a bona fide Cave Bear but still has many attributes that make any fossilized bear skull a collectible example of a prehistoric mammal. This has golden coloration and an excellent set of teeth, which is really paramount to any type of a fine skull. The dentition in this example is superb with four outstanding diagnostic canine teeth and nice sets of other varieties of tooth. This massive skull measures 13 inches (33 cm) in length and evidences some expected restoration which has been performed nicely resulting in a nice overall bear skull specimen. This fossil dates to the 'Ice Age' and is certain to start a conversation anywhere it could be displayed.
