Description
Megalodon Shark ToothCarcharocles megalodon
Miocene
Morgan River
South Carolina, USA
The quality of this fossilized shark tooth makes it a true "wow" piece. The overall condition of the apex predator dentition, and this is unquestionably from the great Megalodon, is superb. The blade is highly serrated, the enamel is nearly pristine, the bourlette is nearly complete and the root structure is intact with the exception of some typical fracturing. Measuring well over 4 inches (10 cm), this is a larger one as well and about twice the size of a modern Great White tooth. This visually stunning example boasts a grayish blade color and a brownish root tone which work together nicely bisected by a darker bourlette. This is a first-quality, A-grade nearly pristine shark tooth. River recovery allowed for such fine condition.
Overall Measurements: 4.22 x 3.18 x 0.80 inches (10.73 x 8.07 x 2.04 cm)
