This exquisitely preserved fossil shrimp belongs to the extinct genus Antrimpos, a member of the order Decapoda-a diverse group of marine arthropods that includes modern shrimp, lobsters, and crabs. The fossil originates from the renowned Solnhofen Formation in Bavaria, Germany, a Late Jurassic Lagerstätte famed for its extraordinary fossil detail. The remarkable clarity of anatomical structures in this specimen-including fine segmentation of the abdomen, delicate limb articulation, and subtle carapace definition-is a testament to the unique depositional environment of Solnhofen's lithographic Limestone.
