    Description

    Fossil Lake Mural
    Amia pattersoni & Knightia eocaena
    Eocene
    Green River Formation
    Wyoming, USA

Flanked by a trio of fossil Knightia fish ranging in length from 5 inches (13 cm) to over 7 inches (18 cm) long, the focal point of this irregularly shaped mural is a rare, and superb, Amia fish measuring 42 inches (107 cm). The gorgeous brown fossil bowfin has been expertly prepared for maximally impactful display. The inlaid specimens on the layered rocky matrix replete with numerous thin seasonal "varve" deposits exhibit fine detail, especially the huge uncommon Amia which boasts a pronounced albeit disarticulated raised vertebral column, nice scaly "skin" preservation, and considerable bony skull material. This is one seriously special fossil on a massive and decorative wall specimen. This stunning mural from the famous Green River Formation in Wyoming is a guaranteed centerpiece and conversation starter for any décor.
    Overall Measurements: 72.00 x 34.00 x 2.00 inches (182.88 x 86.36 x 5.08 cm)
