This fossil gar is from the Green River Formation of Wyoming is not only exceptional in terms of the preservation of the skull and teeth, but it also happens to be very large. The tapered specimen with bullet shape and dark brown coloration exhibits typical restorative work to the ganoid scales, which makes the piece even more special. The fine details brought out in the fins and the naturally artistic matrix all combine to result in a specimen worthy of any museum featuring huge Green River fossils.
