    Fossil Fish Multi-Plate
    Phareodus, Mioplosus, Diplomystus and Knightia
    Green River Formation

This very massive fossil fish plate from the world-renowned Green River Formation in Wyoming features a myriad of inlaid specimens and features an astounding mix of four different varieties. Anchored by one uncommon Phareodus which measures over 7 inches (18 cm) in length, the irregular but triangle-shaped rock is home to 10 individual specimens. In addition to the major predatory example, the plate includes genera of Mioplosus, Diplomystus, and Knightia which truly represent the Green River lagerst├Ątte. From a decorative standpoint, this fossil fish plate is striking. The fossil fish are well-preserved and come alive in this prehistoric aquatic scene. Designed to be hung on a wall, the back of the piece is reinforced with thick wood and has a metal cleating system for installation. This should be a wonderful addition for any room or office. The fossils in this work of natural art date to the Eocene some 40 to 50 million years ago.
    Overall Measurements: 25.00 x 19.50 x 1.38 inches (63.50 x 49.53 x 3.50 cm)
    Offered at no reserve.

[Scale: 1 inch, with mark at 1 cm]
