This free-form piece of golden-yellow sedimentary matrix is home to a literal school of fossil fish. From the famous Green River Formation, this offering consists of hundreds of fossils of the Knightia genus of varying sizes and in numerous clusters. The small golden-brown fossil fish exhibit fine preservation and appear almost life-like, memorialized as they were in life back some 40 million years ago. The hefty rock has irregular edges and some mottled color variances. This is a classic example from a very lofty locality.
