This exquisite Crinoid plate features an incredible large crown with flowing arms, an intricate aboral cup and highly detailed pinnules. A smaller but equally impressive example is secondary on the matrix which has a split-level and two-tone appearance. The fossils are in pronounced relief off their background rock and rest in subtle contrast with their pinkish-gray coloration against the primarily bluish-gray sediments. The Crinoids almost overwhelm this rock but are clearly the focal points of this ancient aquatic diorama. These delicate fossils have been expertly cleaned and prepared for display, and the result confirms that.
