This brow horn from a Triceratops horridus measures 13 inches (33 cm) and comes presented on a custom black metal armature. Dating to the Late Cretaceous, this iconic example comes out of the famous Hell Creek Formation of Montana. The piece has been heavily stabilized as part of its expert and professional preparation. The solid representation of the iconic ceratopsian variety of dinosaur boasts a mottled, light brownish coloration that allows it to contrast dramatically with the very dark base. While not a tremendously sizable specimen, this tapered horn is a fabulous size for inclusion in a display case. The core of the flared contact end of the offering is full of a porous, bony material. Any such quality "Trike" brow horn is about as identifiable of dinosaur fossil as is likely to be found.
