One of the "Holy Grail" specimen varieties of Vertebrate Paleontology, the T-rex tooth is one universally coveted fossil. This example of the vaunted variety boasts rich dark coloration, subtle curvature, intense serrations and significant size, measuring 4.5 inches (11.4 cm). This offering, from the famous Hell Creek Formation, exhibits relatively minimal restoration and is a beast in terms of size, color, shape, and curve. The prehistoric theropod tooth features both classic conical form and offset angle diagnostic of the type. The fully solid piece is not a composite and was likely out of the jaw based on the material at the base of the massive tooth. A section of enamel was missing requiring a modicum of repair. This large example is in extremely good condition.
