Description

T-rex Dinosaur Coprolite
Tyrannosaurus rex
Late Cretaceous
Hell Creek Formation
Garfield County, Montana, USA

This substantial dinosaur coprolite originated out of the Hell Creek Formation in Montana and is documented to be from the iconic theropod Tyrannosaurus rex, dating to the Late Cretaceous approximately 66 million years ago. A uniquely preserved trace fossil, this piece offers direct evidence of the feeding behavior and digestive processes of the formidable apex predator. It has been examined by renowned coprolite authority Dr. Karen Chin and weighs over 1,000 grams (2.2 pounds). The specimen has been reassembled from multiple pieces and is clearly highly stabilized. The unusual surface displays a vivid palette of bold green, gold, and black highlights across the predominantly taupe specimen, evidencing a varied and complex mineralogical composition. Documented examples attributable to T. rex remain rare, making this academically studied and visually striking specimen a significant addition for advanced vertebrate fossil collection.
Measurements: 7.28 x 4.49 x 2.21 inches (18.50 x 11.40 x 5.62 cm)
