A visually compelling bone, this metatarsal represents the "foot bone" of a hadrosaurid variety of Dinosaurs known as Edmontosaurus. The duck-billed plant-eater lived in the Cretaceous Period of what is present-day North Dakota, and this exquisite specimen is from the Hell Creek Formation, well-known for producing exceptional vertebrate fossils. Boasting excellent terminal ends as well as an idyllic hourglass form, this beautiful bone featuring a mottled chocolate brown coloration is in excellent condition. Measuring nearly 11 inches (28 cm) long, this fossil exhibits a minimality of stabilizing restoration and comes presented with a custom black metal stand for a most impactful display in a vertical orientation. It is a bit surreal to comprehend the size of such a Dinosaur, given that the substantial offering is merely one of the many bones in the foot of the gargantuan reptilian!
