This little, brown fossil may not look like much, but what it represents is a big deal. This is a Ceratopsian "shed" tooth, or a tooth that was shed during the lifetime of the horned Dinosaur that once carried it in its jaw. The visible wear on this piece of prehistoric dentition is a function of its feeding on tough plants.
