An absolutely gigantic "positive" Dinosaur footprint representing Iguanodon, this fossil out of the Lone Star State, dating to the Cretaceous, is most unusual and extremely dramatic. Weighing an enormous 27 pounds (12.3 kg), this rocky mass is easy to identify. The huge cast of the three-toed bulky herbivore single trackway is highly textural with a golden-brownish primary side and a more mottled opposite with a number of various hues. Collected on private ranchland in Central Texas and represents a trace fossil about 100 million years old. The highly dimensional footprint with a trio of short, thick toes - likely padded to absorb the extreme weight of the creature - measures an amazing 14 inches (35.5 cm) from the base to the end of the longest central digit. While most think of footprints and trackways as imprints, trace fossils can come in other superb forms like this one.
