Behold a fragment of Baculites, a straight-shelled cephalopod that lurked in the ancient oceans, its name darkly translating to "walking stick rock." Stretching well over 6 inches (15 cm), this remnant unveils "skin crawling" beauty with its eerily preserved brownish nacre, patterned with intricate, maze-like, complex suture lines.
