This visually striking fossil assemblage features opalescent scaphite Ammonites from the Late Cretaceous marine deposits of South Dakota. The specimen includes representatives of both Hoploscaphites sp. and Jeletzkytes spedeni, preserved with exceptional nacreous luster. The fossil shells display soft iridescent hues of cream, pink, and green-an exquisite natural patina that forms through mineral replacement of the original Aragonite. These shimmering tones are dramatically set against a contrasting gray-black stone matrix, enhancing both their visual and scientific appeal. An excellent example of North American Cretaceous Ammonites, this specimen offers both aesthetic beauty and paleontological significance.
