    Description

    Ammolite Fossil
    Placenticeras sp.
    Cretaceous
    Bearpaw Formation
    Southern Alberta, Canada
    2.27 x 1.93 x 0.29 inches (5.77 x 4.91 x 0.74 cm)

Conveniently presented in a plastic black gel case for ease of display, this example of Ammolite is square in general and shown as a diamond. Green and gold dominate the colorful surface with hints of red from behind. The specimen of preserved ancient Ammonite shell, which is both a fossil as well as a gemstone, exhibits the "dragon skin" pattern often visible on pieces of the unique material. This one is ready to go.
