UNUSUAL JURASSIC FOSSIL LOBSTER

The Cycleryon is a lobster-like crustacean that possessed a heavily armoured carapace, thin claws, and strong legs for swimming. The present specimen is a superlative example of the genus, and is quite large, robust, and detailed: minute spines dimple the carapace and the tail shows obvious segmentation. Professional restoration has been done on the specimen to restore some missing elements, such as part of the antennae. The lobster measures 7 ½ x 5 ¼ inches on a limestone slab measuring 24 x 26 inches.
