Description
Fossil ShrimpCarpopenaeus sp.
Creataceous
Lebanon
3.35 x 3.27 x 0.28 inches (8.51 x 8.30 x 0.71 cm)
A well-defined fossil shrimp emerges from this pale Limestone panel-its arched body and delicate appendages preserved with striking clarity. Fine impressions along the thorax and tail fan give the piece a sense of quiet motion, as though the creature paused only a moment before being locked in sediment. A second partial remnant below the primary specimen adds another layer of depth, hinting at the vibrant ecosystem that once flourished there. Soft golden-brown mineralization contrasts gently with the stone, enhancing the sculptural quality of the fine preservation. This refined crustacean makes an appealing addition for collectors seeking a graceful, display-ready fossil.
